Parlor is made by Parlor Studios LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Parlor app and its iMessage extension handle, and why. The short version: Parlor has no accounts, and we keep as little as we can.

In short: no sign-up, no contacts, no location. Game moves travel inside your iMessage conversations. Live games pass through our server and are deleted within a day.

Information you choose to add

Nickname and character. You can set a nickname and design a character. They are saved on your device and are included in the games you send so your friends can see who moved.

Games played by message

When you play by taking turns, each move is sent as an iMessage in your conversation, using Apple's Messages app. That content is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive or store these messages.

Live games

When you start or join a live game, your device connects to our game server (hosted by Cloudflare) so everyone's moves can be shared in real time. For that game, the server handles:

your nickname and character,
a random player identifier that Messages provides for that conversation (it does not reveal your phone number, email or Apple Account),
the state of the game, including anything typed or drawn as part of play, such as word guesses, clues or drawings,
your device's IP address, which is needed to connect and is processed by our hosting provider.

Each live game is deleted automatically about a day after it was last played. We do not use live game data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Information stored on your device

Parlor saves settings, recent games, game progress and your character on your device so they are there when you come back. You can remove this data by deleting the app.

What we don't collect

Parlor does not ask for or collect your contacts, location, photos, phone number, email address, or Apple Account information, and it has no user accounts.

Advertising and purchases

The current version of Parlor does not show ads and does not include analytics or tracking. If we add ads or analytics in a future version, we will update this policy before that version is released, and if any partner would track you across other companies' apps, the app will ask your permission first as Apple requires. Any in-app purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive your payment details.

Children

Parlor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run Parlor (such as our hosting provider for live games), when required by law, or to protect the safety of our users.

Your choices

You can change or clear your nickname and character at any time in the app, play only by message instead of live, or delete the app to remove the data stored on your device. You can contact us to ask about, access or delete information related to you.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
